 Welcome!
Are you ready to understand the depth of knowledge your body can share with you?

How to know is this is right for you?

Where you are now:

  • You live in a state of mind over body

  • You make decisions rashly, without consulting your full self to see if something is best for you.

  • You feel uncomfortable and disconnected from yourself after a long day of work. Because you don't know how to fill in what your soul is longing for, you dissociate more through “relaxing” TV or substance use (alcohol, weed).

  • You have tried some meditation practices but they have not resonated with what your body is needing. You have not yet realized you are craving body-based meditation when you are practicing mind-based meditation.

  • You have a deep inner yearning that you can't put your finger on but feels like it keeps trying to call for your attention.

Where you want to be:

  • You live in a stand of body-mind connection

  • You use your mind logic and body wisdom to make decisions for yourself that are most in line with the life you want to lead.

  • After a long day of work, you are able to spend a bit of time meditating in a way that brings you back to a state of being in touch with a deeper whole part of you, as though your true inner essence and sparkle is coming to life again.

  • Now that you are practicing Body-based meditation, you feel your consciousness expand more than ever throughout your whole body, and you can more easily and fully inhabit and claim all you are in every moment.

  • You are able to “tap in” and connect with a deeper part of yourself that helps guide you toward your most fulfilling life.

As you might have figured out by now, Aumn is all about rebuilding your mind-body connection.

We are all born with this strong mind-body connection. As we age, since our society does not celebrate this connection, we lose touch with these messages. See more in the simple science section below.

The Patriarchy Survives on Separation

Why is this important? Because of how women have had to learn to fit into THE PATRIARCHY!

The patriarchy is about having power over you. The system has power over you. Your mind has power over your body.

It doesn't celebrate the relationship between the mind and body. As the saying goes, two minds are better than one. Well, your body plays a pivotal role in your life and experience here on our beautiful mother Earth. Your body is the vehicle through which you experience life. To be a good little part of THE SYSTEM, It is easier for you to live in a disconnected state from your body.

The Science of the Body-Mind Connection

When you are highly in tune with your body, it essentially becomes an extension of your mind.  Your brain is made of neurons (i.e. brain cells). But, you have neurons running through your entire body (the nervous system) this is how your mind and body speak to each other. More than that, both your heart and your gut have their own sizable set of neurons dedicated to them. Your brain is not isolated in your head, it moves through your entire body.

Here is the thing, your brain also has something called the Reticular Activating System (RAS). The RAS is there because everyone receives so much information throughout the day that the brain only consciously can perceive so much, so the RAS sorts what information the brain perceives and uses.

Many of us have been trained to tune out the messages our body sends us. We do this to be good little members of society, to sit in school all day, work a 9-5 desk job, push ourselves past our capacity, and be “high functioning” in a way that is not of long-term service to our health or wellbeing. Then we come home, feeling uncomfortable in our bodies so we tune out and live in our TV Shows and Books (I occasionally like to live in a faerie world full of magic, romance, and maybe dragons). In all this, what has happened is we have accidentally learned to tune out the more subtle messages of our bodies, becoming more and more externally focused. Of course, we can’t lose all our body connections. We still feel the basics like getting hungry, having sore muscles, or needing to go to the bathroom.

To tune OUT or to tune IN

It's not about turning into a better version of you. It's about tuning into a deeper more aligned version of yourself.

What is body knowledge?

It's the subtle messages that give us the really important messages. This is what we call body knowledge. The messages, what we may call intuition or gut feelings. These are messages our bodies hint to us through subtle information or energy exchanges that our minds can not pick up on alone. Our minds then perceive these messages, spoken as subtle sensations, from our bodies and have to learn to interpret them.

Turning up your Body's Volume

Before you can start to learn the language of your body, you have to turn the volume up on your body for your mind to learn to pay more attention to the subtle sensation your body is sending you. HOW? Well…

The tools:

I created Aumn for YOU! To give you some super easy tools to use in a meditation practice to help you re-sensitize your mind to the messages of your body. This is what I call having a body-based meditation practice.

Through these simple practices, you can start to re-integrate and become more conscious of all the ways your body is trying to communicate with you. That way you can deeply understand what is right for you and feel more connected to the fullness that is you.

Other Benefits

Beyond rebuilding the body-mind connection, there are many other benefits to meditation.

These tools also help you reconnect to your body after having a long day of being in your mind and tuning out the messages of your body, that are important for you to have an amazing self-connected life, that your job or school likely doesn't see as being as important or significant to your experience.

Body-based meditation practices also have a grounding effect and may help bring more calm and a greater sense of awareness to your life.

Meditation practices also have MANY MANY other health benefits (which I will do a blog post on soon and link here when it is done). Some of these include lowering symptoms of anxiety and depression, stress reduction, building neuroplasticity, increasing attention span, helping with sleep, lowering blood pressure, and so much more.
